Gluten and Dairy Free Satay Sauce

My Famous Gluten Dairy Free Satay Sauce is creamy, rich, and packed with flavor.

My famous Dairy and Gluten Free Satay Sauce is creamy, rich, and packed with flavour. The nutty base of peanut or almond butter blends smoothly with the velvety coconut milk, creating a silky texture that’s perfect for drizzling or dipping.

Hints of garlic add aromatic warmth, while a splash of lime juice brightens the sauce with a subtle tang. Maple syrup’s touch of sweetness balances out the savoury elements, and a pinch of chilli flakes or sriracha gives it a gentle heat.

Ingredients

  • PEANUT BUTTER: I prefer crunchy! You can choose sugar-free as an option
  • COCONUT CREAM: Buy from your supermarket in the Asian section or from your local Asian Grocer. Important to choose cream, not coconut milk
  • GARLIC: Always!
  • CHINESE 5 SPICE: Your new spice to always have in the pantry
  • TAMARI: Gluten Free Soy Sauce available in supermarkets and health stores
  • MAPLE SYRUP: Just a dash of sweetness
  • FRESH LIME: Just a squeeze for a little tang
  • TO SERVE: Chilli Sauce, Lemon and Peanuts

Instructions

  1. Let’s get cooking! Place a large frypan on the stove over medium heat. Add garlic, Chinese five spice, and peanut butter. Stir as the peanut butter starts to melt.
  2. Slowly add coconut cream and tamari. Turn down the heat to avoid burning the sauce. Once combined, add the lime juice and maple syrup.
  3. You can choose the thickness of the sauce by adding more peanut butter or more coconut cream.
  4. Serve over chicken skewers, tofu, or beef strips—always add extra nuts on top and a hint of chilli!
