Slow Cooked Saucy Asian Beef is a recipe I made up as I was recording for my YouTube Channel. I really wanted to highlight how easy a Slow Cook recipe is to throw together mid week for a family. This recipe is also super affordable to make as we are cooking with Gravy Beef which the cheapest cut of the cow, yet the most delicious! The sauce comes together magically with minimal effort of opening and pouring. You will want to make this every week in Winter! It honestly soothes your soul with comfort, healthy comfort!

I love to serve Slow Cooked Saucy Asian Beef with steamed rice and greens. Simple! A glass of red wine is a perfect addition and a spoon, to enjoy all the sauce!

Ingredients

A handful of ingredients will create the most delicious rissole!

  • Gravy Beef: or Chuck Steak, it must be this cut of meat to allow the slow cooking process to break down the meat to fall apart from tenderness
  • Garlic: Because garlic always makes things better.
  • Carrot: Sliced
  • Gluten Free Soy Sauce: Otherwise known as Tamari
  • Sweet Chilli Sauce: A hint of chilli and sweetness
  • Fish Sauce: Just a couple of drops
  • Cornflour: At the final stages!
  • To Serve: Steamed rice, green veggies and a glass of red wine!

Instructions

This dish is super simple, with just a few easy steps. Let the marinade do the hard work while you pour that glass of wine.

  1. Dust off your Slow Cooker!
  2. In the slow cooker bowl, add the beef, onion, garlic, carrot and all the sauces. Season. Cook for 8 hours!
  3. Once cooked, remove the beef and place in a baking dish to serve. Transfer the beautiful sauce to a frypan on the cook top. Add the cornflour and bring to the boil. Then simmer to thicken for 2 mins. Remove and pour over the beef. Dinner is done!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I choose chicken instead of beef?

Not for this recipe, beef or lamb is ideal!

Do I need to brown the meat before placing it in the Slow Cooker?

You can if you have time, but I don’t. I prefer to chuck it all in and cook away!

Can I add other veggies whilst cooking?

Ideally, I would just choose carrot and onion. Other veggies will become too soft and possibly mushy through the cooking process. I would suggest pan frying your additional veggies to serve on the side
