Gluten Free Lamb Shank Pie

Gluten Free Pies are the so enjoyable especially on a rainy day!

Gluten Free Lamb Shank Pie is a delightful dish that brings together tender, slow-cooked lamb and a rich, savory gravy, all enveloped in a flaky, gluten-free pastry. This comforting pie is not only satisfying but also surprisingly easy to make. With just a few simple ingredients and a bit of time, you can create a meal that’s perfect for family gatherings or cozy nights in. The combination of succulent lamb and aromatic herbs makes every bite a flavorful experience, proving that gluten-free cooking can be both delicious and enjoyable!

You can choose other meats to make your pies such as chunky beef or pulled pork. I love a fish pie as well!

Imagine your family coming home to this! Its so easy!

Ingredients

Source the best gluten free buns! Once you find them, buy in bulk and freeze to always have on hand!

  • LAMB SHANKS: Slow cooked and falling off the bone
  • OREGANO : Dried
  • SHALLOTS: Diced
  • GF PASTRY: Bought from the store
  • BABY SPINACH: A touch of green
  • GF GRAVY: You can make your own, but I am happy with the powder for a quick option
  • MUSHROOMS: Thinly Sliced

Instructions

Let’s get cooking!

  1. I would highly recommend investing in a pie maker. Either from Target or Kmart. Its the easiest way to make this recipe
  2. Stage one is making the lamb shank mixture. Easy to slow cook in a baking dish for 1 hour drizzled with olive oil and salt. Once cooked, pull the meat from the bone. Stir the gravy powder through the meat with the baking dish juices to create the magic sauce. Stir through the baby spinach, shallots and mushrooms
  3. s Cut the pastry to size and place in the pie maker. Fill with the mixture and place the lids on top
  4. Cook until brown – that is it! Make a bunch of them to keep in the fridge for a couple of days and freeze some for a rainy day!
